trying to get this local video series of bands rolling…it was really a rip off idea from the “take away shows” (thank you xtina). but the idea is to have local bands play their songs unplugged around terre haute, indiana. focusing on yearbook committee ‘73 and cuba right now but would love for other bands outside the genre of folk to go folk it up for the cause. oh yeah the cause: we are donating the videos to this local weekly events publication that donates alot of their time to letting people know whats going on in the area. i am a firm believer in that if more people know of the happenings, more things will happen. so we are going to promote people to watch the video ONLY at their site for so many weeks, then im sure we’ll be post happy and spread the love. im looking forward to it! we already have some places picked out for YbC73…and should be practicing for it next week. i hope its as random as i see it in my head.
independence day is 2 days away. ive always found this holiday hilarious. who decided 4th of july = fireworks? “its july 4th, lets blow shit up!” i mean really, why dont we use fireworks to celebrate any other holiday. like christmas? ive read that the chinease invented them way back when and they would use them to scare off evil spirits. sooo i have to ask…are we scaring off all the evil spirits of the people we killed to get so “independent”? do native americans celebrate our independence day? hmm…
